Josh and Craig will give an overview of the Automotive space and talk about the things that have gone on in the past year. This will be a revealing talk where we can give more details of what has been happening around the industries, how the security community has engaged, and what the road ahead looks like. They'll also introduce and walk through the Automotive workshop.

Joshua Corman

Joshua Corman is the CTO for Sonatype and a Founder of I am The Cavalry (dot org). Corman has served key research and strategy roles at Akamai Technologies, The 451 Group, and IBM Internet Security Systems. He co-founded @RuggedSoftware and @IamTheCavalry to encourage new security approaches in response to the world’s increasing dependence on digital infrastructure. Josh's unique approach to security in the context of human factors, adversary motivations and social impact has helped position him as one of the most trusted names in security. He is an adjunct faculty for Carnegie Mellon’s Heinz College and Advisor to DHS S&T. Josh received his bachelor's degree in philosophy, graduating summa cum laude, from the University of New Hampshire.

Craig Smith

Craig Smith works with the auto industry to harden high-end automotive system infrastructures. He often provides classes on automotive security and started Open Garages. Open Garages is an open collaboration of vehicle enthusiasts across the country, that develop open-source hardware and software to further hobbyist research. Smith specializes in reverse engineering of software and hardware protection schemes. He and his team at Theia Labs, build open solutions to complex security researching tasks.
