In this new global era, consumers of complex products require safety, reliability, quality, and performance, and of course, always with low cost. The producer needs to do all this whilst meeting production schedules. To meet these disparate goals and also comply with consumer, regulatory, and industry standard requirements, system engineering management processes and tools have been created and implemented throughout commercial and governmental programs.
This presentation is a primer on system engineering and walks the attendees through specific events in the life-cycle (development, qualification, and acceptance) of a product where it is possible to create or limit the potential to create "backdoors" of a product or system.
