In years past, video surveillance tech has typically had high barriers to entry for mainstream consumers. With the rise of IoT, these devices are becoming more and more accessible. This presentation discusses possible threats and attack vectors these devices pose, as well as a strategy for tearing them down and searching for vulnerabilities. I use the Netgear Arlo camera system as a practical example and discuss strategies that researchers can use to replicate this work in other similar devices.
