Most network and security operations people hate automation. They like to press buttons themselves and maintain “control” of the processes. Cloud computing is going to be very disruptive as they realize their time tested processes go the way of the dodo bird. What they don’t realize is that the cloud actually increases the control they can have over their environment. In this session, Mike Rothman will talk about why automation and orchestration is a good thing and will show how this can work in practice to streamline previously manual and labor intensive processes, including assessment, configuration management, and incident response.
