CISO Survival Guide: How to thrive in the C-Suite and Boardroom

SecTor 2015

Presented by: Chris Wysopal
Date: Tuesday October 20, 2015
Time: 13:25 - 14:25
Location: 701B
Track: Management

The CISO lives with a target on his/her back, usually lasts a mere 12-18 months and takes the fall for security issues often out of their control. Yet, this is a strategic, C-level position and essential to the success of any organization. The disconnect lies in the CISO being able to elevate their worth with their fellow executives and the Board. Chris Wysopal’s role as a CISO and board member put him in a unique position to share key learnings with his colleagues in the industry. In addition to his own experiences, Chris will share findings from a survey of 200 board members conducted in partnership with the NYSE, shedding light on what they want to hear from CISOs and how the board members view security in relation to the strategic objectives of their companies.
