Remote work is becoming more and more standard in our industry. Being able to pull from the collective pool of engineers, researchers and security personnel from anywhere in the world is highly appealing to companies located in areas with ever rising rent and property prices. Though for those of us who work remote, we are asked to perform the duties of someone in an office, while hundreds or thousands of miles away, almost always with little to no guidance on how to do that effectively. This talk is intended for those who are remote, considering hiring remote or just tired of the drive, cost and pain of working in a physical office and want to give remote work a shot. It will cover some of the difficulties you will definitely encounter, practices on how to keep productive while remote and tools that can help you stay connected and keep track of the time, the work and your sanity.
