Everybody has heard of "the firewall", maybe seen the movie "Firewall", traversed multiple firewalls while using the Internet; but very few truly know how to describe a firewall in terms of Cyber Security. This trip down memory lane will define the beginning, evolution and current state of "firewall technologies" and give the aspiring security professional a much needed point of reference.
Steven is a Technical Manager responsible for security technologies operated by USAA. Prior to his management role Steven worked for 8 years as a Security Analyst and Network Engineer within USAA where he supported a wide variety of technologies delivering services to and protecting USAA's members and employees. He holds both Bachelors and Master's degrees in Infrastructure Assurance from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
