Everyone knows that security talent is scarce. When interviewing for a position, it is important to fully appreciate what that means. As an interviewee, you have the opportunity to be choosy about where you spend your time and energy. Make sure that the company is just as worthy of that time and energy as you are worthy of theirs. This doesn’t give a potential candidate a license to be rude or snobby but rather levels the playing field in a way that not many other careers have. Ensuring that the company and the candidate are the best fit for each other is a dual responsibility. However, before any of this can matter, a candidate must first know themselves. What motivates you? What tempo are you looking for in a work environment now – what about in three years?
